1/ST RACING INTRODUCES LASIX-FREE RACING FOR ALL STAKES RACES AT GULFSTREAM PARK

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – 1/ST RACING announced today that 2021 stakes races run at the company’s premier Florida racetrack Gulfstream Park will be carded Lasix-free effective January 1. The move to medication-free racing reflects the commitment made in April 2019 by 1/ST, along with other major racing organizations and associations, to eliminate Lasix in all stakes races in 2021 and is consistent with the International Federation of Horse Racing Authorities (IFHA) standards.

Laurel, MD – The Stronach Group together with Breeders’ Cup Ltd., Churchill Downs Inc., Keeneland, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and the New York Racing Association, Inc. have agreed to jointly fund North America’s largest study on the effects of furosemide and on the prevalence and severity of Exercise-Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage (EIPH) in two-year-old racehorses.

1/ST APPOINTS AIDAN BUTLER as CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, 1/ST RACING and PRESIDENT, 1/ST CONTENT

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - 1/ST announced today the appointment of Aidan Butler to Chief Operating Officer, 1/ST RACING and to President, 1/ST CONTENT. Butler joined The Stronach Group in 2018 and has been front and center in California leading the racing operations teams at Santa Anita Park and Golden Gate Fields as the Acting Executive Director of California Racing Operations. In addition, he also served as Chief Strategy Officer for The Stronach Group.
